About Torqmetry

Torqmetry is a free collection of motorcycle calculators built for riders worldwide. Whether you are re-gearing for the track, checking whether your speedometer is honest, sizing a new chain, or budgeting fuel for a long trip, these tools give you quick, accurate answers without signing up or downloading anything.

All calculations run in your browser and the values you enter are not sent to us. Speed and fuel tools support metric and US imperial units; the chain-length tool uses millimetres, the standard chain measurement. Your unit preference and dark-mode choice are saved locally on your device.

The formulas used are standard engineering calculations. You will find a plain-language explanation, worked example and common questions in the matching motorcycle guides so you can verify the maths yourself.

Available Calculators

  • Gearing & Top Speed Find your theoretical top speed from engine RPM, gear ratios, sprockets, and tire dimensions.
  • Speedometer Error Compare indicated vs GPS speed, or see how a tire size change affects your speedometer reading.
  • Chain Length Get the right chain link count from sprocket sizes, centre distance, and chain pitch.
  • Fuel Cost & Range Work out your trip fuel cost, cost per mile or km, and how far you can go on a tank.

A Note on Accuracy

All results are estimates based on the inputs you provide. Real-world performance depends on factors like tyre wear, rider weight, weather, and road conditions. Always verify against your motorcycle manufacturer's specifications before making changes to your bike.
